Which schools are eligible to participate in M-SEARCH?

• Schools eligible to participate in M-SEARCH include any accredited institution of higher education in the State of Michigan that has offers one or more of the following degrees: Doctor of Ostheopathic Medicine, Medical Doctor, Nurse Practitioner, and/or Physician Assistant.

How do I register my school?

• Contact the ACE System at the Michigan Health Council by email at msearch@michigan.gov or by phone at (517) 853-3945 to have them set up your school’s profile.
• You will be contacted by email with a username and password to access ACE-MAPP.
   

How do I handle rotation requests? 

• Click on “See Rotations” located on the main menu, and click on the “Pending Students” tab.
• Create a rotation request for the appropriate preferred rotations for students. These will be reviewed by the clinical sites who receive the requests.
• You may also create an independent rotation request, outside of the student’s rotation preferences. These will also be reviewed by the clinical sites that receive the requests.

Which students are eligible to do an M-SEARCH rotation?

• You must be enrolled at a participating school, and you must be enrolled in one of the following programs: Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Medical Doctor, Nurse Practitioner, and/or Physician Assistant.

How do I register?

• Go to www.acemapp.org, and under the “Students” heading, click on “Log In/Sign Up”
• Fill in the information in the box underneath the heading “Create New Account,” and click “Sign Up”

What happens if I forget my password? 

• Click on “Lost Password” on the Student Login page

How do I search for clinical sites? 

• Log in to ACE-MAPP, and click on “Search Clinical Sites”
• Select your search criteria and press “Search”—the results will appear on the right hand side of your screen

I am interested in doing a rotation at a particular site, but they are not on this list. What should I do? 

• Contact your academic advisor to see if the site
  • Is able to host students for rotations
  • Has a rotation opportunity that meets your academic requirements/needs
  • Fits the M-SEARCH-eligibility criteria

What happens after I submit my rotation preferences?

• Your school’s clinical placement coordinator will review your preferences and submit a placement request for the requests that they deem appropriate for you

How do I know which sites are M-SEARCH eligible?

• M-SEARCH-eligibility is indicated in the site's ACE-MAPP profile

Can I do more than one M-SEARCH rotation?

• Yes

What do I have to complete in order to receive the living stipend for completing an M-SEARCH rotation? 

• You must do all of the following steps in order to receive your stipend
  • Register online and complete a profile through ACE-MAPP
  • Request your M-SEARCH-eligible rotation through ACE-MAPP
  • Complete pre- and post-rotation questionnaires
  • Submit W-9 form
  • Complete community project
  • Submit materials used in the implementation of your project
  • Write a short (1-2 page) essay, outlining an overview of your community project

How do I create a user account?

• Clinical site users can create an account by going to the ACE-MAPP site and clicking "Login/Sign Up" under Clinical Site
• Fill out all of the requested information
• This information will be reviewed by the ACE-MAPP Administrator and approved
• Once approved, you may add a new site profile or request to become an administrator of an existing site

My clinical site is brand new to ACE-MAPP. How do I create a site profile? 

• Log in and click on “Add a New Clinical Site”
• The clinical site profile includes basic information about the clinical site and more specific information pertaining to the interests of the ACE-MAPP system
• Once the clinical site has been created, students can view and select the clinical site as a preferred rotation site

My site is already registered with ACE-MAPP. How do I become an administrator? 

• Log in to ACE-MAPP and click "Select Existing Sites"
• Find and select your site; the ACE-MAPP Administrator will approve/deny your request

Can my site have more than one administrator? 

• Yes, all new administrators are approved by the ACE-MAPP Administrator

How do I view rotation requests? 

• When a request is made, you will receive an automated email
• Log in to ACE-MAPP and select "View Placements"
• Under the pending tab, click "Edit" next to the applicable rotation
• Either approve or deny the rotation, or request more information
